    Easter Festivities

     DSCF3827

Saturday, our family had the pleasure of hanging out with the Lilley Family.  Nole and his family had us over to their house to do some easter egg hunting (i didn't find any).  The kids had a great time coloring the eggs, and the guys got to watch some college basketball.  It was good to see Uncle Jeff and Eugenie again, and Grandpa as there as well.

After painting some eggs the kids ran around and hunted down some fake plastic eggs.

Nole has a disc golf basket set up in his backyard.  Isaac and I got to enjoy throwing the disc around.  Spring brings back the great game of disc golf, hopefully woodward park will see Nole and myself tearing up the game once again.

Zach was not completely left out of the fun, we got to go on a bike ride.  The following day Zach also got some easter treats that his brother surprisingly shared with him.

Finally, we headed over to grandpa's house where he set up a second hunt for Isaac to enjoy.  He found every egg!  Then after the great hunt I expounded to Isaac the great easter egg hunts that once transpired at grandpa's house in Lancaster.

All has come to an end

A week off from school was great.  Took the kids to the zoo, played some xbox with Edward Lilley, and ended up not doing any school work, or getting any sleep.

1.) Sleep was my first goal and I spend most my time staying up late playing xbox or watching scrubs.  It was a good dream, but maybe when I retire I can get some naps in.

wallpaper_rainbow_six_vegas_04_10243[2]2.) Beat Rainbow Six Vegas 2.  I didn't beat the game, but I did beat the first level!  I ended up only playing a little bit since my brother and co-workers decided not to buy the game.

3.)  Play lots and lots of Xbox Live with family and friends.  I played some xbox with Edward, but my xbox subscription expired and I kept forgetting to buy a new card that I didn't really play as much as I would have thought I would.

4.) Take my boys to the zoo.  Best part of spring break by far, Isaac is getting big enough where he actually understands what's going on.  Look below for an even more detailed description of our trip to the chaffee zoo.

5.)  Write a report for school. I ended up not writing this until the night before I went back to school.  So, this whole week I have been scrambling to get caught up in my school work.  I gave the presentation and handed in the report on Friday and did great on the speech.  Now, only if I can do well on the written portion I will be money.

6.?  One thing that I did not think of adding to my list of goals was to get back into running.  Last August Nole and Jeff got me into running and we found this great website (runningahead) that lets you track your miles, and also join a group to share in the great running experience.  I had not run in over 1 1/2 months since my surgery, but with the extra time off I was able to get back into the running routine.  If you have any interested in running check out this site and let me or my favorite blogger nole about joining our running club Sua Sponte.

Spring Break '08 was not what I had planed but ended up being pretty relaxing, we even spent some time with the Lilley family the day before easter (look back tomorrow for a post about this great occasion!).  Every time I get time off from school it makes me look forward to completing school, but with only 1 more year to go I can almost taste the finish line.

    Goal 4: Fresno Chaffe Zoo

It's only Tuesday and one goal already completed.  Today the family spent the early afternoon at the zoo.  Parking was absolutely ridiculous, we parked almost at the entrance to the park then walked about a mile to get to the Zoo's entrance.  Great weather though, so no harm done.

The First Stop was the elephants, Isaac was really excited to be at the zoo and was jumping all around.  Note the picture on the right of Zach, he is astonished that Isaac is poking that elephant in the butt!

Poor Zach forgot to put his shoes on this morning so he was strapped to his stroller for most the day.

The petting zoo is the most depressing of all, these goats look so pathetic it almost makes you feel bad for them. . . almost.  And the sting ray exhibit is back at the zoo which still creeps Isaac out.

The last thing we did was feed the giraffes, Isaac manned up and fed them all by himself.  I had no idea how long a giraffes tongue is.

The only way to finish a great day of fun with the family is to have a battle royal in the living room.

Goal 4 is complete, tomorrow RB6 Vegas 2 comes out, time to get down to business.

    Spring Break '08 Goals

Spring Break officially started today.  Here are a list of my goals that I would like to accomplish in order of importance.

    Sleep

1.) Sleep.  I feel like I don't get enough sleep, despite not having to wake up until 8am most mornings.  So, this next week I want to get even more sleep then normal.  The way I plan on achieving this lofty goal is to plan out strategic naps throughout the day to maximize the amount of ZZZs that I get.  Perhaps I'll even have the joy of sleeping into 12pm as I used when I as in high school and was on Spring Break back in the day.  Some how I doubt my sons will allow this to occur.

wallpaper_rainbow_six_vegas_04_102432.) Beat Rainbow Six Vegas 2.  One of my all time favorite games was Rainbow Six Vegas, on Wednesday of this week the sequel is  released.  The Lord's timing in my life is so perfect.  Game of the year comes out on my spring break, I most have be walking a straight path for the Lord to bless me with such a merciful blessing.  I pre-ordered it yesterday, and will be playing it as soon as I get off work that day.  If any of my blog readers happen to buy a 360 in the next few days (Nole), then we can play some online together. . . which leads to my next goal.

    xbox_360_live

3.)  Play lots and lots of Xbox Live with family and friends.  With Rainbow Six Vegas 2 coming out,  and my brother Mike finally getting back on Live it is a perfect time to get back into the habit of killing those I love most.  Edward even hit me up for some Xbox play last night, but I had to turn him down due to it being 1AM!!!

4.) Take my boys to the zoo.  Though the zoo will probably crowded and the boys will probably go berserk and drive me nuts, I have not taken them to the zoo in awhile.  Zach is actually old enough where he might even enjoy seeing some caged up animals.  And since we forked over extra cash last time to get a family pass we need to milk that for all it is worth.

    ReportCard

5.)  Write a report for school. . . . . . . . . . yeah there is a reason it is at the bottom of this short list.  I have to write a formal report on Leadership.  I chose to do it on Best Buy's Leadership, which I hope I can find a good article about it, else I will have to make it up.  Despite the image I chose for this goal I once again have found my self not doing so well as I would like, or have done in the past.  Hopefully I can get caught up and make a good effort of this report.  But, since this conflicts with my more important goals of 1-3 I will have to take my chances and see where the dice fall.

The best part of a post like this is I get to evaluate how I did on fufilling my goals.  Hopefully all goes well and I can cram everything I need to in such a short week.  Short because most of the week I will be working at the Best Buy.  Yes, Nole that link is for you!

Ask me before you Best Buy

My sister just purchased a printer and some ink from the great retail store Best Buy.  After asking her a few questions I determined she could have got $40.00 off the printer, and received a free ream of paper with her purchase of ink.

I've been working at Best Buy for over 2 years and have learned a few things about consumer electronics (not everything).  However, generally I can offer up some decent advice to anyone thinking of purchasing something from Best Buy

So, if you are heading to your local Best Buy to purchase some fine electronic devices; shoot me an e-mail, call me, or leave a comment on this very blog.  I'll gladly share any information that I have that could help you save money, or even something as simple as making a better decision on what you are purchasing.  NOTE!!! This offer does not include the use of my discount, as this would be dishonest and lead to my exit from the employment of Best Buy, so don't ask.

    Harmless Glee

Tonight at school the teacher told us about a web site freerice.com.  This site was created to donate rice to third world countries.  All a visitor must do to help donate rice is to answer vocabulary questions.  Each question answered correctly gives 20 grains of rice to be donated.

Once I opened the site I started answering questions and building a nice little stack of rice.  When Innocuous popped up as one of the words.  Of course the answer was harmless, 20 grains to some poor country.  So, on I went answering and feeding the poor nations of the world instead of listening to lecture.  Sure enough about 15 questions later, "merriment" popped up.  Glee was the correct answer this time, another 20 grains of rice to those starving little boys and girls.  I couldn't help think how amazing it was that Nole's random blog name some how showed up in my 6PM night class while I was not paying attention in class.  It must just be innocuous merriment that comes with knowing such a crazy guy.

*go to this site Nole and see how high you can get your level too.  (I got it up to 37. . . not to high but lets see what you can do)

    Mass Effect

For the past 2 or 3 weeks I have not showed my Xbox 360 the love that it deserves. masseffectwp2ol1 About a week ago I checked an rewards site that Microsoft offers to retail employees to see if any new games had been posted on the rewards page.  Sure enough the game that I had been wanting to be on there for so long was finally up.  After taking a few extra quizzes to get enough points I placed my $9 dollar order (what a great deal!!!).

Fast forward to yesterday when I finally got around to opening the game.  Pure Nirvana.  The game takes place in a futuristic universe where of course you the hero must save the universe from utter destruction.  But, with my mad shotgun skills, there is little doubt in my mind that the universe will be safe in no time.

Keep an eye on my recently played games and watch my achievements rise on this game.  For I'll be playing it for awhile.  The best part is Mike just got the game as well, so we get to spend time when were not playing the game talking to each other about the game.  If my blog reader Nole ever picks up a 360, this is a game he must consider.

Only negative thing I can think about the game is the dialogue takes forever, and you can't skip it, oh and it is not mulitplayer.  But, my shotgun skills make up for that in spades!
