June 27 Incredible Hulk
Also, Edward Norton is way to small to play the Hulk. They had a scene with the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno, he of course is ripped as ever (as can be seen on the left). Then it pans to Norton who looks like a normal guy. I guess that is what the radiation is supposed to do to him. . . Casting him was probably like casting Nick Cage to play Ghost Rider, big name to bring in the crowds. June 25 WONDERDOGS!!!Being able to watch Fresno State win a NCAA national championship is one of those things I will remember forever. I am disappointed I work tomorrow night otherwise I would be going to the party setup for the players return. . . ah well maybe I will see them at school next semester =) Better yet, their championship stands as the biggest upset in the history of any college sport. These guys are legends. This dog pile reminds me of my "Buffalo" days working in maintenance. June 19 Train Spotting
Isaac calls it the spider web for obvious reasons. Now we just need to get some more trains to enjoy such a great track. After Zachs nap this modern marvel was quickly destroyed. It would seem such beauty is not meant to last, we will just have to rebuild it, but this time much larger! June 18 Amazon Music Revisited
I guess 2 dollars everyday will add up, but I am a sucker for a good deal. Zune BadgesOne new thing you may or not have noticed is that on my Zune Card that is at the top of the page is a couple of new medals. These medals show dedication to your favorite bands, and are kind of a cool way of seeing what you listen to the most. So far it looks like I have been throwing down mostly Jack Johnson, but I am a little surprised one of my favorite bands snow patrol is not on their yet. I just burned some mega jam mixs for my maxima, but I will have to change that up and listen to the zune in the car after all. This is very similar to the achievements of XBOX that can be so addicting.
UPDATE: I plugged in my zune which updated my listens and look at those medals fly! Summer TimeIt has been awhile since I made a post, and many post worth events have transpired. Here is a quick update of what I've been up to this summer: School grades finally were posted and I ended up with 3 As and 1 B. I was sure that it would end would have been 3 Bs and an A, but once again the Lord has tampered with my test scores to ensure my success. I am down to one more semester before I graduate with my Bachelors degree and can start bragging it over my siblings. This of course is why I decided to go to school in the first place. This next semester will probably be the hardest yet with 3 difficult classes, and having to deal with the craziest time at Best Buy known as Christmas.
The Lord has blessed our family with a new car. We bought a Honda Odyssey form Honda North. But, the absolute best part of the new van is the fact that I upgrade to the maxima. . . and I mean upgrade. The Geo Metro air conditioner doesn't work, neither does the radio, so yeah I am stocked. Even burned some mega jam mix CDs to celebrate my new wheels.
It was a great time, thanks goes to Nole for giving me the heads up on what rides to take and to avoid. Space MNT was definitely both our favorite ride, but Indian Jones was pretty cool as well. This time we didn't take the kids, but next summer I think Isaac will be tall enough for most of the fun rides.
Probably the thing that has consumed my mind the most this summer is the Lakers. It all came to an end last night with the Celtics destroying them in game 6 of the NBA finals. Though discouraging as it is that they lost there is so much promise for the future. Andrew Bynum should be coming back to give a much needed boost to the center position, and I read today that Ron Artest has the ability to opt out of his contract which would give the Lakers a chance to snag him up. If we land Artest in the off season, and Bynum comes back healthy, we win the next 3 NBA championships easy. Even with out Artest we have a great chance of competing every year. All that said, I was proud how the Lakers handled themselves this year. Past few years they've lost they have quit with no effort, this year they got beat and finished with integrity.
With the Lakers falling short though I can now turn all my attention to my schools amazing run at the CWS (college world series). The Bulldogs were not even supposed to make it to the CWS but have now beat two of the best teams in the country, and look to close out their bracket on Friday over NC or LSU. All I can say is it is really fun checking ESPN.com everyday and seeing the Bulldogs on the front page. These guys have always been overshadowed by our great football program (which I am super pumped for this year), and are now making a name for our school that doesn't involve football, or abundant drinking. I leave for Montana in two weeks, so the Summer will continue to get better, but thought I would throw a shout out to my faithful reader Nole. |
