September 29 Grinds my GearsYou know what grinds my gears? Music play lists on blogs. Not the lists themselves, but the fact that they auto play. I appreciate bloggers love for music, and sometimes like to hear what they are listening too. But if I happen to open a blog while I am listening to music, or open two blogs there is all kinds of musical chaos. I'm not sure if their is a default so that the player doesn't auto play, but if there is click that option so I don't have to scroll to the bottom of the page and turn it off. That's what grinds my gears.
September 27 Bullpups 2-0Today I had the duty of coaching the young Bullpup squad. Our coach was lucky enough to go to the Fresno State/UCLA game (GO DOGS!!!), so he asked me to fill in for the week. We were pretty short handed since the coaches son did not play, and another kid didn't come. After a drawn out practice of the team kicking goals into the net, we had a short prayer and unleashed our furry onto the purple team. Isaac got us off to a great start scoring 2 goals very quickly. Being short handed though didn't phase the Bullpups, everyone scored at least a goal and we always represented the most kids on the field, despite being out numbered 6-4. The game ended up being pretty close, both teams exchanging goals back and forth. But Isaac scored 5 goals this week spread out over the course of the game to lead the team to a 14-10 win. A good win for being short handed and a substitute coach leading the team. I had a great time coaching the team, the kids (on both teams) are a lot of fun to watch. But no doubt looking forward to the regular coach to come back and take over the reigns to lead the pups to even more victories. Quick prayer to ask for absolute dominance over the Purple team, and Isaac taking ball length of field to score one of his 5 goals. Isaac juking out this purple player, then pounding down some water at half to get back to lead the team to victory. Out with the old
Funny enough the only thing about it is that it is a Gateway. Not that Gateway is bad, but Gateway is kinda the Geo Metro of computer manufactures. However, like I tell all my customers, if you buy a Service Plan then you have nothing to worry about. And lucky for me my Service Plan didn't even expire after exchange so I still have two years of protection! September 25 Oracle Open WorldOracle is a company that designs database applications that pretty much the whole world uses. Every The conference was very interesting, got to see some cool stuff Microsoft, ESRI, Intel, and others are up to. By the end of the day we got pretty bored and decided to walk down to the local Best Buy (yeah I'm obsessed). Pretty nice store, huge area for computers which made me jealous. The coolest thing was that we ran into a guy that worked for me at the Fresno store. I knew he worked there but what are the odds of him being there. Walking to Best Buy let me get a better look at the city. Conference is down town with all the skyscrapers, but the Best Buy we went to was in an older shopping area that let me see what San Francisco is all about. Everything is smashed together super tight, and the most random stores/shops are littered along the road sides. My favorite combination was furniture store, adult store, and pizza place, a perfect combination. September 22 SPLASH
aaahh well, now I am stuck using my wife's old phone, don't think I can upgrade for about 1 1/2 years. This phone is old and busted, not quite as glorious as phone in picture. Oh and send me a txt with your name on it so I can add my many blog readers info my phone. GOOOAAAALLLLLL!!!!Isaac started soccer on Saturday. Isaac's team is the bullpups, and thank God that he is not on the purple team this time. It was fun helping out with practice, I might even coach this next weeks game if I don't have to work. It was pretty funny watching the kids kick the ball around, having no idea what the point of the game was. Both teams first goals came from the same kid, but it was all dominance by the bullpups. One of the kids on our team realized it was a good thing to kick it into the right goal and so he scored 6 goals in a row. 2nd Half the other team kinda figured it out and scored a few goals, but then Isaac the closer stepped in and scored two goals of his own to ice the win.
Not only did Isaac have mad goal scoring skills, but he played some wicked good defense. September 19 Zune Badges 3.0Zune gets better and better as time goes on. Microsoft just released the new firmware update for the Zune on Tuesday. Included in the update was a new version of the Zune badge system. Before badges only lasted 30 days and then expired. They changed it to permanent badges and just increased the amount of plays to get a badge. 200 for bronze, 1000 for silver, and 5000 for gold. The Reviewer and Forum one I'm not sure about. It will be interesting to see which band gets 1000 plays first from me, since I keep jumping around to new CDs. Other new features include: Games, Zune marketplace on the Zune itself, and enhanced software on the computer, and they finally added a clock! That is why I love the Zune, they keep adding features as time goes on. I'm still waiting for them to link media content from Xbox 360 and Zune, but I know it will come eventually. September 18 Awana Cubby
Only thing that is a shame is that I have school on Wednesday night. The church is short handed for the Awana program, so I'm pretty disappointed I can't help out. Oh, I will get a picture of Isaac in his vest when he gets it, and he will surely fill it full of ribbons, badges, and whatever else they give for verse memorization. On another Awana note, my brother Mike used to dominate Awana Olympics. I know he won some medals but couldn't remember how many. Mike, any thoughts on your glory days? September 17 In with the NewFriday morning my wife woke me up and let me know our laptop computer wouldn't turn on. I used my vast computer skills to no end, so off to Best Buy to get it serviced. The Geek Squad agent who looked it over scoffed at the large amounts of dust that came out of vents when he used canned air to clean it... But as my computer skills had already determined it had to be serviced. Two weeks with out a computer is impossible while I have such an extensive network of blog readers, and school of course. I knew the computer I wanted, but it was pretty pricey. Right before I gave up hope I remembered we had a model that we no longer carry that was exactly like the one I wanted. So, worked out a good deal, asked my wife for her blessing, and BLAM like that I am back online. Computer is super duper sweet, and I will never use its full potential, but I will surely try. Right now I have it hooked up to my TV which makes text really small, but Grandpa is going to loan his monitor. Model number is m9250f, and if you click photo it will take you to site with detailed specs. My favorite features are TV tuner, and it being so blazing fast! September 15 New Site for an American HeroMy favorite blog innocuous merriment has moved addresses. I dream of a time when all blog spaces will allow comments posted equally, and that friend accounts can cross any boundary. Cheers to Nole, and Cheers to harmless glee. What Could Have Been
One of the best experiences of my life being part of a 50,000 plus crowd that had a big impact on game. Student section where I Though we didn't come away with a win, it still shows the nation that Fresno State can compete with the best. Since Wisconsin was ranked 11 we shouldn't move too much in the rankings. Perhaps if we go undefeated we can still be ranked below top 20 mark by years end, which would give us a great starting point for next year. I saw a bunch of people from work which surprised me since there were so many people at the game. Took photos with cell phone which after dark got all kinds of blurry, so these two are of practice, and then marching band at half time. September 09 FRESNO STATE FOOTBALL!!!!
September 08 Emily's WeddingOnly a month later and another cousins wedding. I love having reasons to get off work early! Emily's wedding was beautifully done, you could really see the attention to detail in almost everything. Best decision was having Rick K. cook up some delicious grub. Only problem for me was the fierce amounts of hay that wreaked havoc on my nostrils. Even had the dance with my most wonderful wife for the first time in a LONG time. Congrats to the bride and groom! There were many groomsmen but these three were the best, and it was great seeing family again so soon after Marky Marks wedding. Wedding ceremony was very God centered which is a testament to the couples commitment to God, and Anna Mae rocked the toast she gave. |
